Client: Fern Valley Group. Project details: 12.5 acres,  20 farmhouses on half acre farm-plots

Spring Valley Farm near IIM, on Bannerghatta Road, Bangalore was conceived as a gated vacation retreat for NRIs. The 12.5 acre coconut farm has been divided into 20 half-acre farm plots, each with a farmhouse and also has common amenities like club house and swimming pool. The farmhouses borrow elements from colonial bungalow architecture and traditional Indian courtyard homes and are designed with sloping tiled roofs, verandahs, open-to-sky courtyards and see-through courts. The USP of this project is the aesthetic use of locally available Sadarahalli granite stone, (nearby quarry), juxtaposed against white, plastered brickwork and Mangalore-tiled roofs to create spacious, comfortable, sun-lit farmhouses which appear to 'spring' out of  the natural green, coconut tree-dotted surroundings.
