COOKE TOWN APARTMENT

Client: Mr Mathew. Project details: 50' x 80', BUA - 18,000sft, 8 apartments of 3 bed configuration

 

This four storey contemporary apartment building located on a quiet street in a leafy neighbourhood in old Bangalore was completed during the pandemic in spite of the difficulties of labour and material shortages and the absence of the client who is based in Australia.

 

Built on a 55' x 85' site, we were able to give the client eight spacious three-bed apartments. The highlight of this apartment is the central courtyard that serves as a light well, allowing natural sunlight to permeate the back apartments and the basement keeping it dry and bright at all times.

The main challenge that we faced in this project was the extremely high water pressure that was likely to be exerted on the basement by the high water table in this locality. Using innovative percolation technology and structurally sound design, this problem was prevented.
