COURTYARD HOUSE AT INDIRANAGAR

Client: Rajiv and Gopika. Project details: Site dimensions - 50' x 70', BUA - 5,300 sft, 

This house is designed for a family of six, on a tight site 50' x 70', in upscale Indiranagar, Bangalore. The clients being from Kerala, wanted a courtyard to be incorporated into the house and valued their privacy. Therefore this house was designed as an inward looking house with high compound walls. The living room, dining room, pooja room, the five bedrooms and the media room open into the central courtyard.

A bespoke open, wooden, centre-stringer staircase is the focus and can be seen from any part of the house as it connects the 3 levels. The 3 year old son's bedroom has a wooden mezzanine study/play floor. The kitchen cabinets, bedroom wardrobes, furniture have been custom designed keeping each member's requirements in mind.
