ART DECO INSPIRED RESIDENCE AT KALYAN NAGAR

 

Client: Mr Kulkarni Project details: 2,900 sft + 900 sft, Site dimensions - 40' x 60'

 

The requirement of this young couple with 2 small kids was a 4 bedroom + study house. The corner site gave us the opportunity to introduce some art deco elements like rounded corners, no frills-streamlined building with loud colours. Since the ground floor was planned for an office, the house is spread over the first and second floors.

 

To allow in some greenery, a small garden that can be seen from the living room, kitchen and dining room was created. The highlight of this house is the double height living room which gives a feeling of spaciousness and brings in the greenery of the outside trees. The two closed balconies jutting out of the bedrooms which serve as spaces to unwind or study or have a cup of tea, are the most appreciated.
